How Your Group Can Help

A. Compose and distribute a fund-raising letter to all your friends, in Chicago and elsewhere. You can get the information you need from the websites: www.iraqidepaul.org and www.iraqistudentproject.org.

B. Host a fund-raising event appropriate to your capacities, skills, and audience. This could be a bake sale, a car-wash, a picnic or other party, a dinner with a silent auction (perhaps with Middle Eastern food), a lecture presentation with a film (we can supply speakers and films)–anything your group enjoys doing.

C. Meet and greet people at festivals, farmer’s markets, concerts, lectures, and other events in your area, giving them the brochure (available on the website) and explaining the program. Carry a basket for donations.

D. Arrange to meet with selected persons to discuss providing “seed money” for DePaul support. These are people who would contribute $1000 or more to our 2010 budget, and we would promise never to come back to them for additional funds. This promise appeals to people who receive many requests for significant donations.

E. When you wish to send a memorial or an anniversary gift to someone, remember the Iraq Student Project. Include the name and address of the family and the name of the person in whose name you have donated and our treasurer will send a beautiful card to the family.

F. Peruse and contribute to our blogsite at www.iraqidepaul.org.

Make all checks out to the Iraqi Student Project and mail to Elizabeth Mertic, 708 Dodge Ave., Evanston, IL 60202.
